Peter Andre has said he was once called a "terrorist" over the way he looked.

Discussing the incident in his column for OK Magazine, the pop star was comparing the situation to the case of Ricardo Dos Santos, the Olympic sprinter who was pulled over by armed police twice in two years.

Andre said he does "think sometimes people are picked on because of the way they look".

The reality star then wrote: "There was one time I came out of a train station in London with a backpack on and my hood up and no taxis would stop for me. Eventually one guy stopped and said to me, 'Just a word of advice, don’t have your hood up and a backpack on, you look like a terrorist'."

Andre said he was really "offended" by the incident due to being judged for what he was wearing and looked like.

The 'Mysterious Girl' singer recently set off on holiday to celebrate the 33rd birthday of his wife Emily. The two recently celebrated a decade together and their seventh wedding anniversary.

For the occassion, Andre bought his wife a diamond ring.

This is Andre's second marriage after being wed to model Katie Price between 2005 and 2009. He has two children from each marriage.

While married to Price, Andre was also stepfather to her son Harvey from the model's relationship with former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke.

Andre can currently be seen in the West End in a production of Grease where he plays Vince Fontaine. The performer recently paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John who is most famous for her performance of Sandy in the 1976 film adaptation.

Sharing a photo of the two of them, Andre wrote: "My sister Debbie just sent me this photo. The night of the Spina Bifida charity concert in Australia where I had the privilege to perform alongside Dame Olivia Newton John. This photo reminds me what a warm, kind and giving person she was. She smiled constantly and spent time speaking to everyone backstage. I will never forget it."
