Peter Crouch has called out his wife Abbey Clancy for being "ridiculous" after she enforced a new rule at their home.

The couple live at a gorgeous £3m home in Surrey with their four children: Sophia, Liberty, Johnny, and Jack. Since getting new flooring, Clancy revealed she decided to lay down new rules when it came to their home.

Disrupting their happy home life, the mum-of-four has asked for everyone to stop using the front door because she wants the new floor to stay looking beautiful. Her husband branded the idea "ridiculous" as he shared his outrage over the new rule.

But do you agree? Cast your vote in the poll below. Is not using the front door to keep the hallway from getting messy a step too far?

What did Abbey Clancy say?

Clancy explained her reasoning behind her thinking on their podcast which gives a playful insight into their marriage and home life with their four children.

She told The Therapy Crouch: "He’s getting kind of annoyed with me because I’m getting a new floor in the house. And I made up this rule now that no one’s allowed to use the front door because I don’t want any mess in the hallway."

Clancy also shared how she broke the news to her family that she didn't want them to use the front door anymore. She told them, "'I want everyone to use the side door so all the s**t can stay there and my house will always look nice.'"

How did Peter Crouch react?

However, the news didn't go down too well. Clancy had no qualms sharing her husband's initial reaction to her new rule. She quoted him saying: "And he was just like, "This is ridiculous"."

Former footballer Crouch spoke up to share why he was so put out by Clancy's new suggestion. He told their viewers on the podcast: "The front door has become no access!"

House proud

Clancy has made no secret of her love of interior design and she hosted Celebrity Homes which aired last year, opening the doors to the homes of the rich and famous. In the series she took viewers behind the scenes of the homes of the Marchioness of Bath at Longleat to Jodie Kidd's Surrey cottage.

Of her love of interior designs, Clancy joked: "Maybe it means I'm getting old." But she further explained her passion for seeing people's homes. She told Tatler magazine last year: "It is the most fascinating thing is getting to look round people’s homes. Everyone’s tastes reflect their unique personalities."

Clancy also opened up about her own home, saying it is "full of life" because she has a busy family. The mum-of-four shared her hack for hiding mess.

She added: "I’ve got four kids. I’ve got a big, busy family. My house is full of life. I’ve introduced a lot of colour… it hides the mucky fingerprints. When it comes to the house: ‘the biggest compliment someone can give is wanting to stay longer'."
