Peter King names Bills’ Leslie Frazier his Coach of the Week

In his weekly awards, longtime NFL writer Peter King highlighted one Buffalo Bills coach for his efforts in Week 2.
Did Sean McDermott stand out against the Miami Dolphins? Maybe in a sense, but that’s not who was mentioned. Rather, it was Buffalo defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.
King named Frazier his Coach of the Week in his “Football Morning in America” column on NBC Sports:
Leslie Frazier, defensive coordinator, Buffalo. Credit Frazier and his D for Miami’s miserable day on offense. Zero points, 216 yards, Miami quarterbacks sacked six times. The Bills might really have the pass-rush GM Brandon Beane has been angling for now: Miami quarterbacks were pressured on 33 of 57 pass drops, and Frazier now has the ability to shuttle his young rushers in and out to keep them fresh. Especially effective Sunday in the Miami heat: A.J. Epenesa, with nine pressures, and this year’s first-rounder, Gregory Rousseau, with two sacks.
In the modern day NFL, it’s very rare to see a shutout. A big reason for that was some individual efforts on the Bills defense.
But Frazier deserves some credit as well. He’s the team’s defensive play-caller. Frazier played a part putting these players in the correct positions on the field.
Truthfully, McDermott deserves a slight nod with Frazier. He kept the faith in Frazier and gave him another crack at calling the plays after a disappointing Week 1 loss vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Good decision by McDermott to stick with his man.
