Peters leads hot-hitting C-Falls to 2 wins
May 13—BUTTE — Haden Peters hit two homers in one game, hit a third bomb in another and Columbia Falls earned two wins at the Laverne Combo softball tournament Friday.
In an 18-3 win over Glendive, Peters hit a solo homer in the first inning, a 3-run double in second and grand slam in the third for eight runs batted in.
Wildkats catcher Demye Rensel joined the party with a grand slam in the fourth (and final) inning; Aspen Dawson added a solo homer in the same frame.
Pitcher Maddie Moultray struck out four and allowed three walks and one hit: Kayla Undem's 3-run homer in the third for the Red Devils.
The Wildkats (14-3) then beat Class B Florence 7-1 in another game that lasted four innings. Sydney Mann fanned five in three innings of work on the hill; she got all the support she needed when Peters hit a two-run homer in the first, putting Columbia Falls up 3-0. Moultray scored two runs in the win.
