PETERSBURG — Residents of Petersburg will have an opportunity to receive free dental services including exams, x-rays and extractions at a Free Dental Clinic this weekend. The event is hosted by Central Virginia Health Services [CVHS] and Virginia Dental Association Foundation’s Mission of Mercy [MOM] program.

CVHS Petersburg staff and volunteers will team up with VDAF's MOM program to offer free dental services to 75 adults in the Petersburg area on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will take place on November 11 from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. at CVHS's Petersburg Health Center.

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with these great organizations in an effort to help meet the unmet dental needs in our community,” Paula Tomko, CEO of CVHS, said.

Interested individuals may call 804-733-5591 or 804-452-5800 to register. Registrants will be encouraged to schedule a prescreening for Friday, November 10. Patient registration also will be performed upon arrival at the Free Dental Clinic when the doors open at 7 a.m. Walk-ins may also register on the day of the event beginning at 7 a.m.

“The Virginia Dental Association Foundation is very grateful for the collaboration of all of our incredible volunteers and partners at CVHS and the VCU School of Dentistry,” Tara Quinn, Executive Director of VDAF, said. “Together we feel blessed to be able to relieve the pain and discomfort of many of those who are still not able to access affordable dental care in Virginia.”

CVHS, Virginia’s oldest and largest federally qualified community health center, has provided quality health care for over 50 years. They offer integrated medical and behavioral health as well as pharmacy and dental services to more than 50,000 annual patients across 20 locations including its CVHS Petersburg Health Center.

VDAF and its MOM program work to improve oral health for hundreds of people with a focus on uninsured adults. In partnership with CVHS, this mission will continue to thrive and serve Petersburg residents through the Free Dental Clinic this Saturday at CVHS's Petersburg Health Center located at 321C Poplar Drive.
