Pets killed in Sacred Heart house fire

Jun. 11—SACRED HEART — Several family pets were killed in a house fire early Thursday morning in Sacred Heart.

The fire took place around 3:21 a.m. June 10 at the 700 block of Second Avenue in Sacred Heart, according to a news release from the Renville County Sheriff's Office.

The residents were inside the house when it became engulfed in flames, the release said. They were able to evacuate and received precautionary medical attention. There were no human injuries. However, several family pets were unable to evacuate and perished.

The property is owned by 27-year-old Austin Enestvedt.

The preliminary investigation of the blaze has shown that the fire began on the southeast side of the home. A damage value has not been made and the fire remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Sacred Heart Fire Department, Sacred Heart MRU, Renville Fire Department, Granite Falls Fire Department, Granite Falls Ambulance Services, the Minnesota State Fire Marshal, the Granite Falls Police Department and the Renville County Sheriff's Office.
