Pets of the Week: Dream team — Mikey, Rocky and Bella top this week's power rankings

Sometimes, a little change can do a lot of good. Just look at the Phillies. Under new interim manager Rob Thomson, they seem bound for the World Series. Okay, so it might be too soon to make that claim, but things sure look much rosier than they did a week ago. For Mikey, Rocky and Bella, a change of scenery would make all the difference. They aren’t hanging out in the dugout, though, they’re spending their days in cages at the Burlington County Shelter. And they sure hope that they’ll soon be part of a new team with a great manager.

Dancing Queens! Pets of the Week: Save the last dance for Morgan,

Mikey and Rocky are the best one-two punch you could hope to add to your team. Eight-year-old Mikey is an orange boy with a bit of a broken heart. Two-year-old Rocky is a charming girl with a penchant for climbing onto laps. While a seemingly unlikely pairing, the two are the best of friends and have been together since Rocky was a baby. Unfortunately, their loving owner developed serious health issues and was no longer able to care for the dynamic duo.

Mikey is a quiet, loving soul who longs for the comforts of his former home. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle, but right now he just feels sad and scared. He looks to his little sister for comfort, and hopes that they will be able to stay together forever.

Rocky, on the other hand, sees the shelter as a big adventure. She is very curious about the goings-on, and just loves to meet new people. Rocky is very outgoing and just loves being petted and cuddled. She also enjoys playing with her toys and, of course, napping with her big brother.

As most cat lovers find out, two cats are infinitely better than one, as you get double the fun and 10 times the love. That’s cat math, by the way, and the numbers check out.

If you’d like to add Rocky and Mikey to your lineup, submit an adoption application online through the Burlington County Animal Shelter’s Petango page (petango.com, enter the shelter’s zip code of 08060, then go to the shelter page and click on Mikey or Rocky' picture), then call the shelter at 609-265-5073 (ext. 4) to set up a meeting.

Out of this galaxy! Pets of the Week: The Force is strong with Cake and Moo

Bella is an adorable girl who is a few pounds above her playing weight. But once she has a home with a yard again, she’ll be tracking down fly balls like Bryce Harper. Six-year-old Bella is pretty much the perfect pup. She’s crate-trained and house trained, has good manners, and is good with kids and other dogs. What more could you want in a pup?

Pets of the Week: Precious, Rocky are ready to graduate at the top of their shelter class

Well, how about a super sweet, affectionate girl who is also incredibly cute? Bella really does have it all, and she can’t wait to share all she has to offer with her new family. Bella would love to accompany her new family on long walks and outdoor adventures, as she needs to lose a few pounds to alleviate stress on her joints. If you’re still working on your summer body, Bella will make a great workout buddy!
