Pets of the Week: Merry and Bright — Sriracha, Max will add love and light to your holidays

Thanksgiving is over, Black Friday is in the books, and November is now in the rear view. That means just one thing — the winter holiday season is officially underway! Even if you actually started decorating a month ago.

‘Tis the season for decorating, baking, gift wrapping and caroling, all served with an extra serving of merriment and mirth. For Max and Sriracha, the holiday season isn't about gifts under the tree, but rather, the gift of unconditional love. However, neither would complain if Santa left them a present or two. After all, they have been very good this year!

Sriracha would love to spice up your holiday, even though she is more sugar cookie than Imhotep tamale! This petite one-year-old girl has a silky black coat and green eyes, and would look super cute in a little Santa hat! Sriracha would love to sit on Santa’s lap - not just to tell him what she wants for Christmas, but because she loves to snuggle.

This sweet girl is incredibly affectionate and never tires of being petted and cuddled. If you happen to lag behind on petting her, Sriracha will gently tap your arm to let you know that you're slacking. In fact, Sriracha, in hopes of influencing an adopter on social media, even collaborated with a volunteer to produce her own hype video on YouTube!

Sriracha might not be much help at stringing up your lights, but she will offer endless comfort and joy.

Max would love to accompany you to the Christmas tree farm, but, like Sriracha, probably won’t be a great help with putting up your lights. While Max tips the scales at 88 pounds, he tends to be all paws!

Max is a happy-go-lucky boy who, at age seven, still has plenty of pep in his step. He had a great time running though the fallen leaves in the shelter’s play-yard, and would love to be part of the holiday festivities in his new home. It might be a cliché to call a big guy jolly, but it’s definitely accurate when describing this jovial giant.

Max is a Bull Mastiff-mix, and shares several characteristics with the breed. As he can be protective of his people, and tends to be unaware of his own strength, Max would do best in a home without small children.

Max already believes in the magic of Santa - can you help him believe in the everlasting love of a forever family?
