Pets of the Week: Winter weary? Tabbie and Izzy will brighten your days

Believe it or not, January really is only 31 days. It just seems like it lasts twice as long as every other month. But don’t let those snow days leave you in a cold daze. Instead, spend your days - and long winter nights - with a warm and snuggly pet, such as Izzy or Tabbie, by your side. There’s no better way to put a spring in your step!

Tabbie is a beautiful Maine Coon-mix who comes outfitted with a long furry coat. But don’t worry- she'll be happy to share her fluff with you. Tabbie is an incredibly affectionate and loving girl who loves snuggling up close to her favorite people. This five-year-old girl adores being petted, sitting on laps, and even being held. Tabbie’s long coat is smooth as silk and this girly-girl loves being brushed and pampered.

Tabbie is a quiet gal who would much rather stake out a spot on your lap than get into mischief. In fact, as soon as you sit down, you’ll find Tabbie by your side. Tabbie loves all the attention she receives from her volunteer friends, but she is ready to find a family of her own.

Want Tabbie to be your personal lap-warmer? Who says you can’t find puppy love in a shelter? Izzy is only nine-months-old and brimming with young pup energy. Like most Lab-mixes, Izzy is silly and goofy, and tends to think she’s the size of a mini poodle! Izzy was surrendered because she was ‘too much puppy’ for her owners, and she is looking for a family that she can smother with so many kisses and snuggles.

Izzy is a sweet, affectionate gal who loves children and other dogs, and lived with both in her previous home. This playful, energetic girl is always up for a game of catch, a long walk, or a challenging hike. Izzy is looking for an active family that will help her with training and make sure she gets enough daily exercise. One way to keep warm is to keep moving, and Izzy will certainly help you out there.

Want an exercise partner and snuggle buddy in one adorable package? Submit an adoption application online through the Burlington County Animal Shelter’s Petango page (petango.com, enter the shelter’s zip code of 08060, then go to the shelter page and click on Izzy's picture), then call the shelter at 609-265-5073 (ext. 4) to set up a meeting.
