No. 3 national seed Tennessee (50-16) won the Knoxville Super Regional.

The Vols have advanced to play in the College World Series for the fifth time in program history.

Tennessee will open College World Series play against Virginia on Sunday. The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT. ESPN2 will televise the matchup.

Former Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning discussed the Vols advancing to the College World Series and playing in Omaha, Nebraska with head coach Tony Vitello.

Manning’s discussion with Vitello put together by the Vols baseball Twitter account has gone viral with over 500-thousand page views in just a few days.

As many Vols fans know, the host city was one of Peyton’s favorite audible calls during his football playing days and lives on today thanks to the Vols making the College World Series in “Omaha.”
