PFW: silver, black and white at Dévastée

Ophélie Klere and François Allary presented the Spring-Summer 2015 collection of their label Dévastée Tuesday at the Espace Commines in Paris.

Embroidery is omnipresent in the latest line from the French designer duo, namely in silver thread on black or white backgrounds. Here, the key piece is the shirt, which also becomes a coat or a dress depending on its length and the weight of the fabric.

The tailoring includes a healthy dose of asymmetry, as seen in a few pieces with uneven hems or sleeves of different lengths. There is a rich variety among the pieces: elegant shirts, skirts and dresses are seen alongside more laid-back T-shirts and sweaters.

As we've come to expect from Dévastée, lighthearted and quirky patterns liven up the monochromatic color scheme, which might otherwise seem somewhat bleak. Smiley faces abound in the prints and cutwork motifs, which just goes to show that sometimes the joy is in the details.
