PG&E to start burying 10K miles of lines in fire-prone areas, CEO says

Pacific Gas & Electric Company CEO Patti Poppe said Wednesday that the utility is kicking off a project to ultimately bury 10,000 miles of lines in California's highest-risk fire areas. Days after the utility announced that its equipment may have been involved in the start of the big Dixie Fire burning in the Sierra Nevada, Poppe appeared in Chico to announce what she called "one of the largest infrastructure projects in the history of our state."
