VENICE — Sarasota County manufacturing leader PGT Innovations announced that it is producing a new product at its Venice headquarters, Diamond Glass.

In a news release, the premium window, door, and garage door business said the next-generation glass technology was created through a unique collaboration with Corning Incorporated, which PGT Innovations announced earlier this year. Diamond Glass can be used for either laminated or laminated-insulated windows or doors.

“Incorporating Diamond Glass into our WinDoor product portfolio is a game-changer for both our dealers and homeowners,” said Debbie LaPinska, chief customer officer for PGT, adding that it offers superior optical clarity and protection against hurricane winds, intruders, noise and UV rays. “Not only does it ease the installation process for our dealers, but it also offers homeowners a more enjoyable experience using the products as a result of easier operability, even in larger sizes and with impact-resistant glass that meets Miami-Dade testing standards."

Diamond Glass is available to order from select Florida dealers and can be found in home installs and spaces such as garage doors, bi-fold doors, terraces and sliding glass doors. For more information on Diamond Glass, visit windoorinc.com.

PGT Innovations, which rebranded earlier this year from PGT Custom Windows and Doors, has slowly shifted its focus from the leaders in hurricane impact-resistant windows and doors to producing and distributing "high performance" glass window and door products that include an emphasis on energy efficiency, sound-reduction and security.

PGT Innovations has installed 7 million units in homes since the company was first started in 1987. The company has reported no failures and boasts an array of hurricane windows and products developed and manufactured in Venice for nearly forty years.

Besides PGT Custom Windows and Doors, the company's brands include CGI, WinDoor, Western Window Systems, Anlin Windows & Doors, Eze-Breeze, NewSouth Window Solutions, Martin Door, and a 75% ownership stake in Eco Window Systems.
