Creative multi-hyphenate and Virginian Beach native Pharrell Williams paid homage to his Hampton Roads roots during the debut of his Louis Vuitton line Tuesday evening during Paris Fashion Week.

Williams’ outfits included a letterman jacket design based on his own jacket from Princess Anne High School. A model wore the jacket paired with a black skirt and a duffel bag bearing the classic Louis Vuitton gold-and-brown pattern.

State senator and Virginia Beach native Aaron Rouse praised the show and Williams in an Instagram post, saying, “He has always repped VA to the fullest.”

Several items in the show also bore a “LVERS” emblem, a reference to both the fashion brand and Virginia’s famous “Virginia is for Lovers” tourism slogan.

Elsewhere in the show, Hampton Roads natives and rappers Pusha T and No Malice, both of the hip hop group Clipse, walked in the show, while new music from the pair played in the background.

Williams was named Louis Vuitton’s new men’s creative director in February after the death of Virgil Abloh.
