- Philabundance is announcing a 30 day food drive in recognition of the upcoming Ramadan holiday observed by those of the Muslim faith.

SHARIF STREET: There is a tradition that we fast and we abstain from eating for 30 days from sunup to sundown as Muslims. But it also is a tradition that if for religious reasons-- for medical reasons, like a plague-- we're kind of in the middle of one of those. You can't-- you're uncomfortable fasting-- you can feed another person-- a person in need.

- State Senator Sharif Street is organizing the effort. The goal is to offer meals to 6,000 people at community sites throughout Ramadan, which begins on April 13.
