Joshua Sills, a lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been indicted on charges of rape and kidnapping in Guernsey County.

An offensive lineman for the Super Bowl-bound Philadelphia Eagles has been indicted in connection with a 2019 rape in Guernsey County.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced the indictment in a press release on Wednesday morning.

Joshua Sills, 25, has been charged with one count of rape and one count of kidnapping, according to the indictment. The charges stem from an incident that occurred in December 2019 in which a woman alleged she was forced to engage in non-consensual sexual activity with Sills.

The offensive guard is originally from Sarahsville in Guernsey County.

Yost said the incident was immediately reported to the Guernsey County Sheriff's office and a "detailed investigation" was conducted.

The prosecution of the case is being handled by the Ohio Attorney General office's special prosecutions section.

Sills was issued a summons and is due to have his first court appearance on Feb. 16, four days after the Super Bowl.

Sills was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022 with the Eagles. He played college football at West Virginia University for four years before transferring for a fifth year at Oklahoma State University.

He has appeared in one game for the Eagles this season as a reserve.

In a statement, the Eagles said they were "aware of the legal matter."

"We have been in communication with the league office and are in the process of gathering more information," the team said. "We have no further comment at this time."
