Police ID Philadelphia man killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on I-495

A 60-year-old Philadelphia man was killed Sunday when his car veered off I-495 and struck a tree, Delaware State Police said.

Police identified the man as Caesar Williams.

Investigators said Williams was driving south at about 5:30 p.m. on I-495, south of Philadelphia Pike, when for unknown reasons his 2006 Volvo S70 drifted off the right side of the roadway and into the grass shoulder.

The Volvo then struck a tree near the fence line that separates the interstate from Governor Printz Boulevard.

Williams was the Volvo's only occupant.

No other vehicles were involved in this collision.
