Llarisa Abreu has the latest forecast.
LLARISA ABREU: The good news is, Jim, I'm tracking a really nice day for us. So hopefully, you're not in that situation, where an elephant comes charging at you. Right now, we're tracking relatively quiet conditions over the region.
We had a boundary move through the area. And now drier air is beginning to funnel. And now it's going to be gradual, because it's still steamy outside with dew point sitting in the 60s and 70s. Current conditions show we're off to a quiet start.
In fact, a lot of us enjoying clear skies out there. We do have a few clouds overhead here in Philly, extending South into New Jersey. And that's due to the proximity of that boundary that I just mentioned.
It's going to sag South. It's going to bring cloud cover and even a little bit of rain out across Southern parts of Delaware. if you're closer to the city, points of North and West. It is actually going to be a really nice afternoon for you.
We're going to start things off with temperatures in the mid 70s. Here by 9:00 AM, we're at 76. We'll notice an easterly wind. And, of course, whenever you have winds coming out of the East, you can bet it's cooler.
That's exactly what is expected later on this afternoon. We're going to shed the heat. And eventually, the humidity will follow. So we are tracking just a beautiful afternoon in general.
By Friday, that same boundary to our South will begin to lift North. It's going to generate a few showers over our region. It's something to keep in mind. That easterly wind will bring about even cooler conditions here to round out the workweek.
So we're tracking showers. We're tracking temperatures topping out in the upper 70s, in the upper 60s and 70s. And then the start of the weekend looks fantastic I'm keeping Saturday completely dry, but now models are hinting at the possibility of an afternoon thunderstorm by Sunday.
