- The Philadelphia Youth Basketball Program has received a big boost, a $1 million state grant. The grant was awarded today by state senator Vincent Hughes through the Commonwealth's Redevelopment Assistance Capital program.

The organization says it will use the money to renovate the future site of the Alan Horowitz Sixth Man center on Wissahickon Avenue. The center will offer literacy and development programs, along with youth basketball.
