Philipsburg will run on Dunkin’ this summer as coffee, doughnut chain nears opening date

Philipsburg is set to soon start running on Dunkin’.

The coffee and doughnut chain — which officially shortened its name from Dunkin’ Donuts in 2019 — is set to open next month in Philipsburg at 1161 Philipsburg Bigler Highway, which most recently housed Adventure Video, according to the marketing partners that work with Dunkin’. Building owner Leonard Martin added the franchisees hope to open in early June, although a grand opening date has not yet been settled upon.

This Dunkin’ will be the first location in Philipsburg. The closest Dunkin’ to Philipsburg is in Clearfield, more than 12 miles away from the new location.

“The area really seems excited about it coming,” Martin added. “It’s been a long process.”

The new location will have a drive-thru. Martin also said he signed a 10-year lease with the franchisees with four five-year options, meaning — if Philipsburg enjoys Dunkin’s coffees, teas, sandwiches, and more — the location should stand at least 30 years.

The storefront has been vacant since October 2019, when Adventure Video closed several months ahead of the pandemic. Martin said he received interest from Dunkin’ not long afterward, but it took more than three years to hammer out details like acquiring certain permits.

Now, Dunkin’ is set to open in a matter of weeks. The location is hiring.
