Phillies smack around Jarlin Garcia in the third; beat Pirates 4-3

Jarlin Garcia’s disastrous third inning propelled the Philadelphia Phillies (5-3) over the Pittsburgh Pirates (1-5) 4-3 Saturday afternoon.

Garcia replaced Hill in the third inning and got knocked around quite a bit. All four of Garcia’s hits given up went over 100 mph.

The Phillies stormed back against Garcia and took a 3-2 lead after a Kyle Schwarber RBI single followed by an Alec Bohm two-run homer.

Garcia was yanked by Derek Shelton and the training staff after a potential injury and was replaced by lefty Rob Zastryzny.
