The newest member of the Miami Dolphins is former Colorado Buffaloes running back Phillip Lindsay.

After being released from the Houston Texans, the Dolphins claimed Lindsay and brought in some much-needed depth at the running back position.

Against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Lindsay made his debut with his new team, and his third new uniform in less than a year.

He did well in short action, and it always helps when the team wins the game. The Dolphins upset the Cam Newton-led Carlina Panthers, 33-10. Surprisingly enough, Lindsay wasn’t a factor in the receiving game, but he got a lot of work throughout.

He finished the game with 12 carries for 42 yards, just four carries less than starting running back Myles Gaskin.

But, it was Lindsay’s pass protection that caught the attention of people.

He got in there and did the hard work protecting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, something the Dolphins are separately hoping for with their franchise quarterback.

After the game, Tagovailoa raved about Lindsay in his first game with Miami.

After just one game, Lindsay was already featured as a focal point in the running game and protected the quarterback.

Things are looking good so for Lindsay in a Dolphins uniform, and he should continue to get more run as he learns the playbook more and more.

Next up for the Dolphins is a game against the New York Giants before heading into the bye week, and it will be interesting to see how Brian Flores distributes the carries and workload going forward.
