Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:

  1. Due to a recent drop in cases, the City of Philadelphia has lifted its COVID-19 vaccination mandate for dining establishments, effective Wednesday. The change comes as the Department of Public Health released its four COVID-19 response levels: "Extreme Caution," "Caution," "Mask Precautions Only," and "All Clear." Based on Wednesday data's, Philadelphia has entered Level 2 ("Mask Precautions Only"). (WPVI-TV)

  2. A gunman opened fire into a crowd outside a Philadelphia grocery store on Tuesday afternoon, sending a child to the hospital. According to police, the 12-year-old girl was on her way home from school and entering the grocery store when she was shot in the stomach, then rushed to an area hospital. Police do not believe the child was the intended target. (WPVI-TV)

  3. Two foundations have awarded a total of $450,000 in grant funding to local startup, The Growth Collective. $200,000 came from The Patricia Kind Family Foundation, with the other $250,000 coming from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The Growth Collective supports Black-owned and operated development groups in Philadelphia. (WHYY)
