Phoenix-area hotel offering ritzy baseball-themed stays for the World Series

A Phoenix-area hotel is offering ritzy baseball-themed stays for fans coming to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Texas Rangers in this year's World Series, which will mark the fourth time in Major League Baseball's 117 year history that two wild card teams compete for the title.

W Scottsdale is located in Old Town, about 20 to 40 minutes away from Chase Field depending on the time of day. The business markets itself as a "luxury" hotel with an in-house spa, rooftop pool and an on-site Japanese steakhouse. Rooms there typically go for upwards of $500 each night, according to its website.

Starting Sunday — the day before the Diamondbacks' first home game in the series — baseball fans can book the hotel's "World Series Package" to get a room full of beer, snacks and a bunch of free baseball-themed hotel merchandise.

The package starts at $489 per night and also includes "luxury accommodations" in each room, such as "an oversized workspace, W Mix Bar, 50 (inch) flat LCD TV, and Nespresso machine."

There are also more expensive suites available through the package that include "a full seating area, private patio and expansive views," according to a spokesperson for W Scottsdale.

Guests need to use the code “SPE” when booking a room online in order to get the package. The promotion runs through Friday, November 1, when game five of the World Series is scheduled to take place.
