Phoenix Olympian Jade Carey captures all-around title in college debut with Oregon State

Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey wasted little time making her name known on the college gymnastics stage with her first all-around title in No. 19 Oregon State's season opener against Washington and San Jose State.
In her college debut, Carey posted a 39.650 to win the all-around title and swept all of her events. Carey's best performance came on the bars when she took the event title with a 9.95.

Carey, who trained at Arizona Sunrays Gymnastics & Dance, is coming off an Olympic performance in Tokyo where she took the gold medal in the floor exercise.

Carey's floor exercise bolstered Oregon State's best rotation of the night as she won the event with 9.90. After the meet, Carey tweeted: "It was worth the wait."

Carey will return to action on Sunday, Jan. 23 when the Beavers host UCLA at 2 p.m. The contest will be aired on Pac-12 Network.
