Phoenix police investigate fatal collision near 49th Street and Indian School Road
Phoenix police were investigating a fatal traffic collision that took place Saturday morning in the area of 49th Street and Indian School Road.
Police identified the victim as 27-year-old Anthony Vasquez.
Officers arrived on the scene at approximately 10:25 a.m. where they learned that a man was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a car traveling west on Indian School Road near 49th Street.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police did not suspect speed or impairment to be factors in the collision.
