Phoenix police investigate fatal collision near 27th, Missouri avenues

Phoenix police are investigating a pedestrian collision that killed a man Friday night in the area of 27th and Missouri Avenues.

Investigators learned that the collision happened around 10:30 p.m., after a man was crossing 27th Avenue just south of Missouri Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling north on 27th Avenue, according to Phoenix police.

The man was taken to a hospital where he died due to his injuries.

Police say the driver of the car remained on the scene. Speed and impairment are not suspected to be contributing factors in the collision, Phoenix police said.

Additional information and the identity of the victim were not released by police.
