Phoenix residents see lower temperatures, rain, wind

Phoenix residents should expect decreasing temperatures, rain and increasing winds this weekend, according to the National Weather Service Phoenix.

The National Weather Service in Phoenix has forecast a gradual decrease in both daytime highs and nighttime lows throughout the weekend in the Valley.

Some parts of the Valley saw rain on Saturday morning. Phoenix could expect up to a half of an inch through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Most areas surrounding Phoenix were expected to see less than an inch of rain on Saturday, except for Payson, which was forecast to see up to an inch of rain throughout the day. The rain was projected to taper off later in the afternoon in the Valley.

As the weekend progresses, the weather service expected a decline in temperatures, with the high range reaching 72-75 degrees and the low range dropping to 53-58 degrees by Sunday.

According to weather service meteorologist Gabriel Lojero, Phoenix does not anticipate any flooding situations. However, there might be minor ponding of water on roadways. He advised drivers to exercise extra caution on the roads in light of the anticipated rainfall.

Lojero mentioned that later in the weekend, starting Sunday afternoon, the weather was expected to be partly cloudy and breezy, with winds ranging from 15 to 20 mph. However, he reassured Phoenix residents that these conditions are not a cause for concern, describing the weather on Sunday afternoon as "nothing to write home about."

Overall, he emphasized that Sunday was anticipated to be a pleasant weather day.
