The Phoenix Suns' 2022-23 NBA season will begin against the same team that ended its 2021-22 season.
The league officially announced Wednesday the Suns will face the Dallas Mavericks in their season opener on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., at Footprint Center. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Phoenix lost to Dallas in seven games in the Western Conference semifinals last season in a 123-90 blowout at home.
The Suns' schedule reflects recent success as a top NBA contender anchored by all-stars Devin Booker and Chris Paul. It includes 34 nationally televised games with 11 set for ESPN, nine on TNT, two on ABC and 12 on NBATV.

The Suns will play the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day in Denver at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN. It will be the second straight year Phoenix has played on Christmas. The Suns lost last year on the holiday to the Golden State Warriors, 116-107, at Footprint Center.
Phoenix will face the Memphis Grizzlies in Memphis on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 16, at 4 p.m., in a game that will be broadcast on TNT, part of a double-header on the network with the earlier game being Miami at Atlanta. Atlanta and Memphis have been traditional host cities for the NBA on the MLK holiday, Atlanta being where King was born and Memphis the city where he was assassinated.
The Suns' first meeting against the defending champion Warriors will be at Footprint Center on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m., a game slated for TNT.
The first home game against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers is Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 8 p.m., which will be televised on ESPN.
Tickets for Phoenix Suns 2022-23 home games will go on sale to the general public at Suns.com/SingleGame on Monday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. with early access for PayPal SixthMan Season Ticket Members at 8 a.m.
