Winners and Whiners: Take the Lakers with the points vs. Suns

It writes: "The Phoenix Suns have dominated the Los Angeles Lakers over the last few seasons, winning nine straight games. However, they enter this contest struggling, losers of four of their last five, and they have been struggling defensively during that stretch, giving up at least 123 points in three of those five games. They have allowed 113 or more in all five."

Clutch Points: Go with the Lakers with the points vs. Suns

It writes: "It is difficult to trust the Lakers. Regardless, the Suns have no Ayton and no Durant. The Lakers have a slightly better bench, which might play a role in this one."

Sportsbook Wire: Suns 113, Lakers 107

Seth Orlemann writes: "While they appear to have hit a cold streak recently, the Suns are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 road games and still allow the 4th fewest points per game (111.6) and have the 6th best opponents’ field-goal percentage (46.6). The Lakers have struggled at home recently, going 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS in their last 3 home games and there is a solid case to be made for backing the SUNS -1.5 (-105)."

Sports Chat Place: Bet the Lakers to cover against the Suns

Peter Tran writes: "The Suns are shorthanded once again as Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton are both out, while the Lakers are still missing LeBron James. The Suns have gone off the boil over their past five games or so and they will be kicking themselves after dropping a winnable game against the Thunder on Sunday. The Lakers have continued to play some of their best basketball of the season without James in the lineup and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their gritty win over the Magic in their last outing. It’s hard to split these two squads at the moment, but the Lakers are in better form and they could have a major advantage in the paint if the Suns’ Ayton isn’t able to suit up. This should be a close contest, but I will be sticking with the Lakers to get the minor upset at home."

Fansided: Suns will cover against Lakers

Peter Dewey writes: "Phoenix has rebounded well after losses this season, going 18-13-1 against the spread, and it’s interesting to see how well the Suns have played without Ayton. That allows for them to space the floor a bit more, and I think they can outshoot a Lakers team that is in the bottom half of the league in 3-point shooting this season. I’ll take the Suns as one-point favorites tonight."
