Photographer Gets Stunning Shot of a Breaching Humpback Whale

Humpback whales are impressive with just their sheer Godzilla-like size. But when these gentle giants of the sea throw their 30-ton weight into the air, it's always a stunning sight.

And almost no one has seen such a great angle as the one captured by photographer Beau Pilgrim. Pilgrim captured this whale's amazing aerial acrobatics just off the coast of Tonga, a small Polynesian island southeast of Fiji. Although the internet is littered with humpback whales' predilection for defying gravity, this short shot firmly rests among the best.
