Photos: Statue of Egerton Ryerson at Toronto university toppled, won't be replaced

Ryerson University's president on Monday morning said the statue depicting Egerton Ryerson will not be replaced after demonstrators toppled it on Sunday, June 6.

Ryerson is considered one of the original architects of the residential school program. Last month, the discovery of 215 bodies at a former residential school site in Kamloops, B.C., sent shockwaves across the country, renewing calls for governments to tackle Indigenous issues across the country.
