Make your photos stand out at this Mississippi selfie museum
Are you looking for the tools to make your selfies more fun and creative? Do you want to take photos for marketing that make your brand stand out?
Pose Selfie World in Flowood may be the answer.
"The idea is you can get fun pictures for social media or just to have or for brands," said owner Avis Green. "Different brands use us for their websites or social media for selling items. It's just a fun, different place for people to come in and experience something different."
Pose Selfie World is what is known as a selfie museum. They've been around for several years, but not everyone knows about them. They're businesses that provide lighting and backdrops so people can create their own, unique selfies.
"We have 13 different themes and some are three-sided," Green said. "So, they're like little rooms and some are just backdrops. So, they're all different."
Fun themes for fun selfies
Themes include things like a music studio, a room that is turned on its side and back to school.
"Our most popular is probably our giant birthday cake or the throne," Green said. "We've got a black throne and that's good for all kinds of pictures."
To keep it fresh, props and backdrops are periodically rotated in and out.
"We change them out about once a quarter," Green said. "We're getting ready to switch one out, now."
And it's not a place just for selfies.
"We've had people take their engagement photos," Green said. "We've had people come in and take their Christmas photos. Our biggest thing is having parties."
Graduation photos and more at selfie museum
Ashley Smith of Byram said she went with her daughter and her daughter's classmates to Pose Selfie World for a special occasion.
"It was my daughter's graduation," Smith said. "It was like a little graduation photo shoot.
"She had a lot of props to use. They actually used the photos for a graduation photo book and they used them in a slideshow in the ceremony as well. They really enjoyed it. They did not want to leave."
Erica Scott, formerly of Madison and now living in Princeton, Texas, said the selfie museum was fun family entertainment for her daughter and son.
"We have been there several times," Scott said. "It's a real fun thing to do.
"My daughter, Terajai (Brown), really liked it. She liked to go into each room and experience the different props."
Scott said she and her children continue to go there when they visit Mississippi.
"We have an awesome time there," Scott said.
