STAUNTON — Celebrating the Fourth of July, thousands gathered at Gypsy Hill Park Tuesday morning for The Happy Birthday America parade.

Fairland Ferguson was on her horses, Wilson Fairchild's Wil and Langdon Reid rode a float and Jesus was spotted on top of a Jeep, but none of that compared to the excitement generated when a 1965 Mustang in the parade caught fire. Read more about that here.

Otherwise, the parade went off without a hitch, part of a full day of activities in Staunton Tuesday.

Take a look at our photos from the parade. And check back later for more photos from Tuesday night's Wilson Fairchild and Gene Watson concert.
