Pablo Picasso's "Guernica" has been re-made out of chocolate

to celebrate Basque culture and cuisine

Location: Lezo, Spain

40 chocolatiers re-created the cubist painting

on 14 panels using different colours of chocolate

to mark the 85th anniversary of the Basque town's bombing

depicted in Picasso's painting

(SOUNDBITE)(Spanish) HEAD OF THE BASQUE PASTRY CHEFS ASSOCIATION, LORENA GOMEZ, SAYING:

"It is a universally known piece of art which has a background with a portion of suffering and peace and a message of hope. In the end, for us, it is true that our land in Guernica is very emblematic here in Vizcaya our homeland."
