Here is a look at the latest individuals in the running to be voted the Lansing State Journal high school athlete of the week winner.

Voting is unlimited and open until noon Wednesday to determine the latest winner, who will be featured in the print edition of the LSJ.

Elijah Ellis, Lansing Christian boys soccer

The senior helped the Division 4 No. 3-ranked Pilgrims continue their strong season with a 2-0 win over then Division 4 No. 5-ranked Hillsdale Academy. Ellis had a pair of goals in the win and has been one of the area’s top goal scorers this fall.

Alena Li, Okemos girls golf

The sophomore was the champion at the CAAC Open on Monday while helping the Wolves claim the team title. She shot a 68 while earning medalist honors.

Rylan Nelson, Haslett girls swim and dive

The junior has been one of the area’s top performers and helped the Vikings maintain a perfect mark in the CAAC Red and finish second at their own invitational last month. In a league win over Waverly Lansing Catholic, Nelson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.79 and was part of the winning 200 medley relay. At the Haslett Invite on Saturday, Nelson won the 200 freestyle in 2:06.28, the 100 backstroke in 1:04.92 and anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay.

Lucas Perez, DeWitt boys soccer

Perez has been one of the top points scorers this season for the Division 2 No. 13-ranked Panthers and fueled their late rally in a comeback win over Mattawan on Saturday. Perez scored the game-tying goal during the final 10 minutes of play before DeWitt went on to a 2-1 win that pushed its record to 9-2-2.

Ty Randall, Laingsburg football

Randall has been one of the top passers in Greater Lansing and helped the Wolfpack to a third straight victory. He completed 21 of 31 passes for 251 yards and four scores for the Wolfpack in their 33-20 CMAC victory over rival Bath.
