Messi, Pulisic, Reyna. Take your pick.

A Soccer.com popup store is coming to The Streets at Southpoint in Durham. Among the perks: on-site customization, so you can add your favorite player’s name and number to your jersey.

A family-owned business based in Hillsborough, it’s the company’s first foray into brick-and-mortar retail.

The store will be open just in time for the holidays. It will run from Nov. 1 until Jan. 7 on Level 2 near H&M and the Food Court. The hours will align with the mall’s hours.

The store will carry professional soccer fan jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, footwear, as well as soccer balls, hats and soccer scarves.

Some of the club and federation jerseys being offered include Inter Miami, Charlotte F.C., USA Men’s and USA Women’s, Mexico, NC Courage, Angel City, Chivas, Club America, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

In 1984, Mike Moylan decided to make his passion for soccer his profession. Then a Durham Academy high school junior, he was getting ready to play soccer for Georgetown University, but he struggled to find the world’s best cleats and other gear.

“The idea for the company is born,” he wrote on his website.

In the fall of 1984, he printed the company’s first mail-order catalog, featuring 24 pages of products only available overseas until then.

Today, it’s an e-commerce business with a 200,000-square-foot customer fulfillment center in nearby Mebane.

Moylan and his brother, Brendan Moylan, continue to run the site.

“We remain a family-owned business made up of players, diehard supporters and soccer moms and dads like you,” he said.
