Pickleball is growing in Louisville and new study shows by just how much
Pickleball has been growing around Louisville with new courts and businesses opening seemingly all the time.
But how much does Louisville love pickleball?
A recent report by Solitaire Bliss found Louisville is the No. 10 city for pickleball interest, based on a Google search interest over the past year. The report also found that the city has an 85% increase in growth from last year.
"The Association of Pickleball Professionals reported more than 36.5 million players in 2022, and this number is continuing to grow. It's almost as popular as solitaire!" the website says.
Still, the report by Solitaire Bliss said Kentucky is one of the least obsessed states with pickleball.
Solitaire Bliss is a webpage for people to play solitaire, but it also has a blog with several studies, including the most obsessed states with pickleball. The research was done by collecting "search interest data for 12 keywords related to pickleball," according to the website.
"We shortened the list to basic terms to find the states most eager to learn more about the sport, and we then collected the total search volume for the terms. To determine overall scores, we totaled the search volume across all keywords. We then scaled the scores from 0 to 100, with 100 being the highest possible score."
