Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid have been given their own Mr Men cartoons to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the popular children’s books.

Morgan, infamous for his confrontational style of interviewing in which he frequently interrupts his guests, has been dubbed Mr Shouty.

His Good Morning Britain co-host Reid, meanwhile, has the dubious title of “Little Miss Pouty”.

Morgan’s cartoon is blue and depicts him looking angry while holding his finger in the air, as if to make a point.

Reid’s is yellow and shown wearing red lipstick and heeled boots.

The first book in the Mr Men series, created by English author Roger Hargreaves, was published in 1971.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the books’ publishers are asking fans to choose two new characters from a shortlist of five.

The choices are Mr Calm, Little Miss King, Little Miss Brave, Little Miss Energy and Mr Brilliant.

Roger Harvreaves’s son, Adam – who took over illustrating and writing the books after his father’s death in 1988 – said: “It’s amazing to see people are still connecting to the books after 50 years.

“They have always been about getting people to relate with the unique characters and identify the different traits of their own personalities, so it’s great to involve the fans and let them help shape the next 50 years of Mr Men.”
