Note: The following contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 8.

Piers Morgan is used to unleashing verbal smackdowns on Good Morning Britain, but he got one of his own during an appearance on The One Show.

The opinionated presenter was dropping by the BBC chatshow on Thursday (May 23) to promote his new series of Life Stories when he got to chatting with Matt Baker and Angela Scanlon about the Game of Thrones finale.

"Everyone's raving about Game of Throne," Piers complained. "I think Game of Thrones is just unwatchable bilge."

Matt and Angela urged him to brace himself for backlash for daring to even criticising Game of Thrones, especially since Piers admitted he'd only ever watched 10 minutes of the last-ever episode.

"Ten minutes of the finale, where there was this weirdy-beardy guy comes in and there's a big dragon," Piers complained. "Then, the weirdy-beardy guy kisses the woman who's supposedly his queen, and while he's kissing her…"

Sensing her guest was about to reveal major spoilers to the nation on live TV, a worried Angela Scanlon ordered Piers to "SHHHH".

"No! Are you kidding me?" she incredulously asked Piers.

Piers backed down, instead moving on to reduce a show beloved by millions to "unwatchable garbage" based solely on having seen 10 minutes of the last episode.

"Shut your piehole," Angela jokingly quipped, before demanding: "Give it a week [before spoiling]."

Angela, can we have you follow Piers wherever he goes to keep him in check?

The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.

Game of Thrones aired on HBO in the US, and you can also catch up on the show via Hulu. Viewers in the UK can catch up via Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
