Piglet Brings Smiles to Residents' Faces at Louisiana Veterans' Home

Residents at a veterans’ home in Monroe, Louisiana, were treated to a visit by a 3-month-old piglet, as seen in a viral Instagram video.

Video taken by Leslie Greene shows elderly residents at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home greet and pet rescue piglet Elfin, who was joined on his visit by a baby goat.

Speaking to Storyful, Greene said that she visited the facility with her coworker, Elfin’s owner, who brought the pig to cheer up residents as a form of “pet therapy.”

“The residents absolutely loved him and couldn’t wait for him to come back,” Greene said. “We’ve visited the home with other animals, but the piglet has always been their favorite!” she added. Credit: Leslie Greene via Storyful
