Pike County murder trial continues Tuesday with testimony from Wagner ex-wife

The trial of George Wagner IV continues Tuesday, starting with more testimony from ex-wife Tabitha Claytor.

Wagner IV faces 22 counts related to the 2016 shooting deaths of eight members of Pike County’s Rhoden family.

On Monday, Claytor characterized Wagner IV and his mother, Angela, as "strange and controlling." She said her former mother-in-law ruled the house and interfered in the couple's sex life, including giving Wagner IV nightly back scratches in bed.

Claytor and Wagner IV share one son, born in July 2013. At night, Claytor said Tuesday, "I would be made to go take a nap while Angela played with my son." She wanted to live elsewhere but Wagner IV refused to move out. She testified to fight she and Wagner IV had that led her to leaving him in 2014. They divorced in January 2015.

"It was about a year before I got to see my son because George wouldn't let me," she said.
