There are many traditions associated with the holiday season, and among them is the fine art of baking anything and everything we can get our hands on. While it’s great to make something from scratch, sometimes we just want a quick and easy bite that we can enjoy while watching our favorite Christmas movies. This year, that treat will be Pillsbury’s new Candy Cane Sugar Cookie Dough.

You may be thinking that Pillsbury has already released a candy cane flavor, but then you’d be wrong. What the brand has released is the Peppermint Sugar Cookie Dough. It may sound identical, but we know at least one major change with this new dough — you can bake it, or it’s safe to eat raw.

The treat consists of sugar cookie dough that’s filled with peppermint-flavored bits. The 30-ounce long cylinder of premade dough is ready for you to cut or spoon, and then roll into balls and place on a cookie sheet. After 12 to 15 minutes in the oven on 350 degrees, you’ll be in wintery heaven and your kitchen will smell like Santa Claus’ workshop!

The limited edition is expected to be available in grocery stores and mass retailers through the holiday season. If there were ever a reason to plan a cozy night in and binge-watch as many Christmas films as possible, this new holiday-approved treat is it.
