Pilot’s ex guesses his iPad password, uncovering a trove of child porn, Indiana cops say

An Indiana pilot arrested after getting off a plane earlier this month had more than 1,000 child porn images and video of an infant being molested on flash drives, Indiana police say according to media reports.

Two flash drives discovered during a search of Robert W. Brown Jr.’s home contained the images of boys and girls between the ages of 1 and 17 either nude or involved in sex acts, according to the News and Tribune. Brown also had a video showing a 12-year-old girl involved in sex acts with a dog, police said, WDRB-TV reported.

An investigator said in court Friday that there are “many more” items of evidence to go through, the News and Tribune said. Brown has been charged with two counts of child exploitation, with more charges likely to be filed, WDRB said.

Brown, 47, was arrested Jan. 17 after landing at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport on a flight he was not piloting, WHAS TV reported. He was a pilot for Spirit Airlines but is no longer employed there, the airline said.

The police chief of New Albany, where Brown is from, said the case “involves extraordinarily disturbing factors,” according to WHAS-TV.

Police were alerted to the graphic images after his ex-girlfriend guessed the password to his iPad, WDRB reported. One video shows a man, believed to be Brown, assaulting a 2-year-old girl with a wash rag, detectives said according to the Louisville TV station.

Brown’s attorney, Richard Rush, told the News and Tribune that he should not be judged so quickly.

“These types of allegations are such that I think there’s a rush to judgment,” he said. “You hear these types of allegations and the instant reaction ... is ‘Oh my gosh, what a horrific thing to be accused of.’ I think many of us just presume someone’s already guilty, but we have a right to ... we’re presumed innocent in this country.”

Brown remains in the Floyd County jail on a $100,000 bond.
