Pilot Killed in Plane Crash in Hamptons

A small plane crashed, killing the pilot, near Three Mile Harbor in East Hampton, New York, on Thursday, October 6, according to the East Hampton Town Police Department.

Witnesses said that the left wing of the airplane fell off the craft as it flew over the Three Mile Harbor and the plane fell to the water and “exploded,” according to local news reports.

Video posted by HamptonsTownie, which they said was taken in East Hampton on Thursday, shows the remnants of the plane at the water’s edge.
