Pilot program in Stanislaus County town links students with digital mental health services

Children's mental health is an ongoing crisis that has worsened during the pandemic. In the Central Valley, efforts are underway to help youth with outreach. A study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that attempted suicide went up by 51% in people ages 12 to 25 years old. The issue has gotten to the point where the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the National Children's Hospital Association declared a national emergency in relation to it. The announcement also came with the launching of a coalition to address the emergency.
