Pine Bluff police find missing man’s body Thursday morning

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Pine Bluff police said Thursday that they have found the body of a man who was reported missing.

According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, officers responded to an area near East 26th Street and South Indiana Street around 10 a.m. to find 31-year-old Derrick McAfee, who was reported missing Wednesday.

Police officials said that McAfee’s family called authorities and began searching after finding his empty vehicle near 26th Street and Indiana Street. Police said that his body was found in a cart on the north side of 26th Street.

Authorities said that he was pronounced dead at the scene and detectives are investigating his death as a homicide. Police officials said that his body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the official cause of death.
