Pine Ridge High School celebrates Class of 2022

Pine Ridge High School seniors flipped their tassels Wednesday evening as 332 students received their diplomas at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.

Valedictorian Ella Wakelyn, who will study history and religious studies at the University of South Florida, and salutatorian Jillian Parrish, who will study cellular biology at the University of South Florida, addressed their peers during the ceremony.

Wednesday's celebration was the fourth graduation ceremony for Volusia County Schools' 2022 graduation season, with 3,905 expected to walk across the stage and flip their tassels.

These graduates have completed their final two years of high school amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
