Pineland Bakery thanks community for over 40 years of support

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WJBF) Pineland Bakery has been serving the community for over years.

For this episode of “Your Hometown Road Trip” we stopped in to speak the owner, Curtis Martin about his business and how much he appreciates the community support from all these years.

What is Pineland Bakery?

“The sweet place, the place where you come when you need that sweet tooth feel, and we’ve been doing it for 47 years.”

How long have you been doing this, is it a family business?

“Yes, my mom and dad would have started it 47 years ago, I’m 44, and second generation. My son who just turned 18 is ready to soon takeover in the next couple of years. We’re looking for that 3rd generation to continue serving our community. They have blessed us and I hope we have blessed them with good food.”

How much does it mean that the community has supported you all of these years?

“I had many people tell my mom and dad that they didn’t think they were going to make it and here we are, and it’s a two way street.”

What do you think keeps people coming back?

“A friendly smile, just helping people out, and caring about them as a person, not just the food that we sell, but hopefully the food is A-plus.”

What do you want to say to the people of Waynesboro and your customers?

“In the business of life you can’t always say thank you, but that’s what I would like to say to my community is thank you. You work hard, and you hope people appreciate it, and you get enough feedback and I believe they do.”
