ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A weak cold front will move into the region overnight into Friday morning. Most of the region will just see an increase in cloud cover. For areas north of Interstate 64, a few light showers are possible.
Due to the increased cloud cover to start the day on Friday, temperatures will be slightly cooler across the region, but still above average.
After this front passes, calm conditions are expected for the next several days. An area of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will block any storm systems from coming our way for the next several days.
Due to this blocking high, temperatures will remain above average through Monday. A storm system will move across the south before turning north and moving up the east coast. The storm will be too far away to bring rain but will drop temperatures starting Tuesday.
